I agree to the VVESTS Terms of Use: This system is for official Virginia Department of Health use and may only be accessed by users that are currently authorized by the Division of Vital Records and Office of Family Health Services. Unauthorized use, access or modification of this system or any data stored within is a criminally prosecutable offense. Any attempts at unauthorized access or data editing are logged and strictly prohibited. All usage of this system is monitored and audited, and by accessing this system, all users consent to these activities.

Welcome to Virginia Vital Events and Screening Tracking System (VVESTS). VVESTS provides authorized users a secure, web-based environment to register and manage vital events and infant screenings.

Birth Registration Module

Birth Registration Module
The Electronic Birth Certificate (EBC) module is used for electronic registration and reporting of birth certificates.

Death Registration Module

Death Registration Module
The Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) has provision for electronic registration and reporting of
  • Death Certificates (Attended and Unattended)
  • Spontaneous Fetal Deaths
  • Induced Termination of Pregnancy
  • Donation of Bodies for Science - Virginia State Anatomical Program(VSAP)

Virginia Infant Screening and Infant Tracking System (VISITS)

Virginia Infant Screening and Infant Tracking System (VISITS)
Office of Family Health Services provides access to VISITS to capture necessary data for children born in the Commonwealth of Virginia. VISITS allows authorized Early Hearing Detection and Intervention hearing users and VACARES users to report Birth Defects. Hearing users also have access to report and review hearing screening, diagnostic evaluations and referrals/outcomes for children diagnosed with hearing loss.
